M. Middlemass Previous to her appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University-Newark Campus, Dr. Middlemass was on faculty at the University of Kansas, was the 6th Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow on Race, Crime and Justice at the Vera Institute of Justice in New York City and worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow. Dr. Middlemass holds degrees from The Wichita State University (B.A., Political Science) and The University of Georgia (M.A., American Politics and Ph.D., American Politics, Public Policy & Public Administration). Professor Middlemass’ scholarship and teaching interests focus on questions found at the intersection of political institutions, race and public policy. She has published several articles and book chapters on issues related to race and public policy. In particular, she examines the collateral consequences of a felony conviction and the impact such policies have on communities of color. |
